Materials

Physics, chemistry, biology, and psychology are far older fields than neuroscience. As such, there are established techniques of how to teach these subjects. Neuroscience is still a young science, and we are experimenting with the best ways to teach it. Below are some of the educational materials that we have developed; materials are free to use, but please give us feedback if you have it.

BrainSTEM Manual

This document represents contains over 25 lesson plans that have been tested in the Houston K12 educational system. We generally suggest starting with the section on Sensory Neuroscience or Cognitive Neuroscience, as the lessons are well received and require few resources to implement.

BrainSTEM TV

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were forced to teach remotely; to help our partnered schools, we built a compendium of videos on a wide range of neuroscience topics, which can be accessed here. These videos are aimed at an approximately middle school level, but will work well as introductions for nearly anyone.
